Catalyst Soccer History

           The Catalyst Soccer Center may have had humble beginnings when it first opened in early 2010 , but the creator of Catalyst Soccer Training, Alicia Piz, began molding this vision long before that.  As a child growing up in Denver, CO, Alicia's parents owned an indoor soccer arena, which flourished Alicia's passion for soccer and ignited her entrepreneurial spirit.  After an accomplished youth soccer career she had her first ACL reconstruction surgery at 17 years old, just months before entering her freshman season as a full-scholarship student-athlete at San Diego State University.  While Alicia studied public relations at SDSU she endured 6 total knee surgeries that sidelined her for 3 of her 5 soccer seasons.  These kind of setbacks would have most people leaving the game behind forever, but Alicia turned the experience into her life's mission to help young players avoid the injuries she had and discover all the ways soccer could be their 'catalyst' in life too.

          After crafting her business plan throughout college Alicia officially started her company "The Catalyst Training Center" at the age of 23 by renting a small 700 square foot workout studio and traveling to local parks to do skills training with her clients.  Less than 1 year later, her reputation for being a quality soccer trainer grew among the community and her ambition became unstoppable, so in March 2011 Alicia expanded her services into a 12,000 square foot warehouse and hired a staff of trainers to teach them how to develop players "the Catalyst way".  Each year the Catalyst Soccer Training and Education programs became more polished, and each year the desire to positively impact other soccer audiences around the country became stronger.  Therefore, in 2015 Alicia and her husband, Matt Couch, put a plan into action that utilized his skills as a teacher combined with modern technology to formalize the Catalyst Soccer methods into an intelligent and easy to use platform.  Now, Alicia and Matt devote their full efforts every day to bringing you this Digital Catalyst Soccer Center.
